Presented is an antique, Chinese hard stone seal or chop made during the mid to late 1800s. This piece was hand carved out of hard stone, possibly jade. The decorative top is done the full figural form of a dragon or foo dog.
The front has a Chinese character signature and the underside has a carved seal, most likely for ink but it could also be used for a wax seal. This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. There are some slight scratches to one side, but this is hardly noticeable. The base measures 1 1/4 by 1 1/4 inches.
