Antique Chinese Lacquered Wood Box, Inlaid Porcelain Figural Decorated Top

  

This is a nice antique oriental caddy. I believe it is a tea caddy, but it could have been used to store other valuables. The porcelain top is inlaid as you can see where the chip in the paint is across the top edge. That appears to be the only area of chipped paint.

If you look closely at the photos you can see it is slightly tapered from one side to the other. It is carved and painted on the sides and features a water lily on two sides. Measures roughly 4 1/2" across and 2 1/2" tall. The measurement of each side front to back is 3 1/4" and 2 3/4", giving it a taper of 1/2 from side to side. It is in very nice condition for its age!
